![]() ![]() ![]() I have also ran some speed test with my external drives and the read speeds are as fast as connected to my computer but the write speeds are a little bit slower. I checked system information and it's rated at 60 Watts and my MacBook Pro draws what it needs with out effecting the attached device performance. So far I have tested it with my Apollo, OWC Thunderbay 4 in raid, second generation iLok, several different USB thumb drives and everything is working as it should. You can also download a docking station utility that makes it safe and easy to eject the USB drives. I also found out for those of you who own an Apple Superdrive that there is a driver that you can download from the website that gives it the power to run the CD drive directly connected to the Hub. This makes me feel better about placing it on some of my other devices. I also like the rubber feet that can be removed and inserted on either side. I must say I do appreciate the extra USB 3.1 ports and I like the idea that you can change the orientation of the device to better fit its location and cable path. I guess this can be expected with small devices with power running through them and that heat has to go somewhere so that's a good thing. Smart move! it gets a little warm but the OWC being mostly plastic got a lot warmer. It's made out some kind of aluminum alloy and it acts as a heat sink. What I can say so far is the build quality is a lot better than the OWC HUB. Well I received my Element Hub yesterday and I have had a few hours to test it. ![]()
